How Lil Nas X became a phenomenon / Is Lil Nas X just a two-hit wonder?

 Lil Nas X is a rapper and is well know for hits like Old Town Road, Panini and Rodeo. 

    He first started as a internet figure on twitter as a fan page for Nicki Minaj called @NasMaraj, that account was suspended by twitter due to spam. He did another account called @NasMarai . His actual Twitter account is a repurposed version of @nasmarai

He started to make music back in  2018 when he released  his mixtape NASARITI . 

Career 

In December 2019 he released Old Town Road - the hit that will change his life. Old Town Road debuted in Top 80 in US. The song started to gain popularity on TikTok and after a remix by Billie Ray Cyrus Old Town Road spent 19 nonconsecutive weeks on Hot 100. Breaking the record for the most weeks at #1 on Hot 100. 

After the gigantic success of Old Town Road, Lil Nas X released its debit EP called 7, it contains 7 songs including Old Town Road and Old Town Road (remix).

The EP genereated the hits Panini which entered in Top 5 on the Hot 100 and was certified 5x Platinum . And Rodeo with Cardi B which peaked at #22 on Hot 100.

The EP was nominated at 1 Grammy and Old  Town Road was nominated at Best Video. He won 3 awards at the 62 ANNUAL Grammy Awards.

The EP have a trap sound mixed with some country influences. TBH I like it, he can establish this as his style. The EP is decent nothing special but not bad.

And now the question is - Is Lil Nas X just a one hit Wonder? Well,if  his debut album will not be different than 7 EP, it will have success but if he will follow the same sound as 7 he can flop I guess.

The debut album can flop also because Lil Nas will be associated with Old Town Road and everything after can be overshadowed.
