Today August 17 , marks 2 years since Sweetener- fourth studio album by Ariana Grande ,was released.
Today we`ll talk about how sweetener influenced Ariana`s career and image, the sweetener timeline and how Ariana`s mental health was during that era.
Everything started on April 18 2018 ,after months f silence on social media , Ariana announced the lead single of sweetener „no tears left to cry” . The song was released on april 20 and had massive succes With almost 900 mil. views on youtube and 820+ mil. streams on spotify. No tears left to cry was peaked at nr.3 in US and sold over 5 milion copies around the world. I guess the song is pretty nice an is a good comeback after months of silence and anticipation.

On may 2nd 2018, Ariana reveal the name of her fourth- coming album „sweetener” . She said sweetener is about sweetening the situation and making someone`s life sweet.
On may 15 Ariana Grande and Mac Miller officially broke up . She said on twitter that she isn`t his mother and she was in a toxic relationship with him.
On june 20 Ariana released a collab with Nicki Minaj (a.k.a. her sister in the industry) titled „the light is coming”. The song served as promo single for sweetener and was released once with the album pre-order. Now the track received a lot of backlash, so much people said the song is mediocre and don`t show the Ariana`s vocal range properly .Anyway the light is coming was peaked at nr.76 on billboard hot 100 and don`t ask me but that`s pretty low.

On July 13 the second single of sweetener „God is a woman” was released, the song received universal acclaim and some controversy cause of the music video . God is a woman peaked at nr.8 in US and is certified platinum. Also this is Ariana`s grandma favorite song from the album. In my vision the song is really good and is in top 3 songs from sweetener.

Finally on august 17 2018 sweetener was released and it received universal critical acclaim along with a massive debut week. Sweetener sold over 500k units around the world and peaked at nr.1 on Billboard 200 and other countries such as UK, Australia and others. Also 11 songs from 15 songs entered in top 100 in US .
The album itself is a step-up from every Ariana Grande`s album. Sweetener is more experimental- Ariana experimented with the trap sound and also is so personal , she have writing credits on 13/15 songs. For me sweetener is Ariana`s 2nd best album after thank u, next. I feel she is involving with every era and that`s amazing.

A promo tour for sweetener started on august 20 but sadly ended on September 7 because of the Mac Miller`s death. That eveniment affected sweetener promotion and her mental health. But the things don`t stop there Ari broke up with Pete Davidson on October 15 2018 after 4 months of engagement.
On November 7 was released the music video of the third and last single from sweetener- breathin . The track had radio impact but did not entered in top 10 but was peaked at nr.12 in US.
At that time Ariana was working on a new project and we know it as thank u next (album). That album was iconic and was the 2nd best selling album of 2019. That album also generated the hits 7 rings,thank u, next and break up with your gf, i`m bored. But we will talk about that formerly.
So we can say Sweetener era was an important era for Grande.During that era she found her signature style and became the Pop Diva we know today. „2018 was the worst year of my life and the best year for my career” Ariana said during her speech for billboard woman of the year. Also Sweetener won a Grammy for Best pop vocal album.
After sweetener comes thank u, next winch extended her succes.
